Kari Adams
I’m a self-taught painter whose work is shaped by a deep spiritual life and by living attentively within a full, ordinary world. I’m a wife and mother of three homeschooled children. When I first learned to paint, I often held the easel steady with my left hand as my toddler leaned against it, pushing it toward me. My right hand learned to paint quickly in those moments. As he’s grown, my process has slowed.
I’m drawn to details and quiet moments—places where attention settles and time stretches. I paint to create space for myself within a busy life, and also for those who encounter the work, inviting them into something gentle, honest, and alive.
About Kari Adams
Belonging
When I start a painting, I approach it as a relationship rather than a project. I spend time studying my reference, looking closely and allowing affection and attention to guide the work as it unfolds.
I paint slowly and intentionally, infusing each piece with care, warmth, and presence. Love is not an abstract idea in my work; it is something I actively place into each brushstroke.
Private commissions are considered selectively when there is meaningful alignment with my artistic practice. Those who feel a connection to the work are welcome to inquire.
